What is the changes in the new Remote Desktop software for XP?

Question by the need to know: What is the changes in the new Remote Desktop software for XP?
I am using XP and Remote Desktop. Someone told me there is a new version of Remote Desktop that helps with issues of printers and other items connected to the local computer. For example, the scanner. What is the major difference? Should I download? I read the Microsoft area and it mentions Vista but it also says something about if you are running a server called “Longhorn”? What is that?

I haven’t used the remote printing features, but I like the updated remote desktop client because for one thing it lets you save sessions and passwords on the fly rather than having to create a separate shortcut / .RDP file for each session. Once you connect successfully to a computer it’ll remember your connection properties.
