Personally I wouldn't go w/ the cheapest laptop, your deff. going to want something w/ some "get up and go" to it especially if he's going to be doing web designing, most of that web design software is pretty big and you'll need the power to run it. Same thing w/ games (Spore) you'll need a laptop w/ a little bit above average video card. I'd look for a laptop that is in the middle tier for sure. Look for one that has a Intel Core 2 Duo processor, DVD RW, 2 to 3gig's of ram, 256meg video card, and 160 gig hard drive or bigger. That's just a start for now and of course you can tweak those settings for yourself but that should point in you in the right direction. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me. Good luck!
