what does IT desktop support do? Is it less work than web design?
What is their typical role within a corporation? What type of corporations hire these professionals?
Answer by david d
Desktop support deal with PC -related problems over the phone or in person.
They help users with PC issues, as opposed to server or network-infrastructure problems.
They’ll help users with errors, hardware failure, network connectivity, printing, applications that are running on their work PC, and will visit the PC in person to fix the problem.
Often, they use remote-control tools like VNC to fix problems by taking control of the user’s PC.
Also, they ‘log’ problems that are reported to them to keep track of the kinds of problems that are happening.
Corporations of all sizes and in all areas of business typically rely on PCs, so they’ll have some kind of desktop support. Some desktop support staff are on the company payroll, and some will work for an outsourced IT company.
