The “desktop search software” here means tools like “Google Desktop” or “Yahoo! Desktop Search”. I want to search my local pdf files with regular expression.

It just means the graphics card/processor are powerful and geared towards gaming, but that doesnt mean it isnt suitable for simple tasks you would do on a regular computer, infact it will probably last longer, so yeh it will be fine for you go for it.
PS If you copy/paste the specs for the pc in the additional info bit, along with how much your paying, then ill tell you if its worth it etc…

My first thought was to use Flash. Take a look at what Marvel Comics is doing >>> http://marvel.com/digitalcomics/ They are on the right track, but the Flash work is pretty bad. The concept though is a winner.
It appears this is a PHP Joomla base platform, but it is a hybrid meaning custom coding has been done to modify the original “out of the box” template(s). The base platform you choose for any website design is not relevant to the visual appearance because you can create an identical visual appearance on any website platform or coding ie HTML, PHP, CFM, ASP etc etc etc. The visual appearance of any website is just the “skin”. So with that said, since WordPress is the #1 ranked CMS website platform currently available, WordPress should be used as the core website platform. Joomla is good, but WordPress is a better CMS platform in my professional opinion.
So assuming you build on the WordPress platform you can use the Kimili Flash Embed WordPress plugin to embed the regular size com Flash Comic books within the pages or you could have the Flash load independent of the WordPress pages similar to what Marvel is doing.
Another even more simple option would be to just install a Flash gallery plugin like the WordPress Flash Photo Gallery plugin. This of course would not be as cool looking as a custom coding thing, but it would be a no brainer quick way to display your comic books.
In my professional opinion to get the biggest visual impact I would create custom WordPress template pages, use the Kimili Flash Embed WordPress plugin to embed the Flash and then either find an open source free Flash gallery that serves your purposes or create the custom Flash Comic Book movie yourself in Flash. Full Flash websites do not do well SEO wise so that is why you would build on the WordPress platform and not just build a Flash website.
So if you want simple and easy you are going to have to settle for something that is probably not going to be perfect or exactly what you want. You may get lucky though and find all the pre-made free stuff you want out there that you can piece together to get the look you want. Good luck.

The word “server” is one that is often thrown about these days, and many people know the word without really knowing what it means. Most people understand that a server is a piece of equipment through which they can access certain information, but they know little beyond that. The server is actually an extremely useful and specialized piece of equipment that could be of great benefit not only to large corporate offices, but to smaller and medium-sized businesses as well. A rack mount server is an excellent piece of equipment that offers a number of benefits, and the 1u server is among the more commonly used office servers.
For those unfamiliar with servers overall a comparison between a rack mount server and a regular desktop computer would likely be useful to you. In terms of equipment and hardware, a server does not differ a great deal from a regular desktop computer. A rack mount server is designed to perform a more specific function than a desktop computer, however, and that is to provide round-the-clock access to information to a network of computer users. While it is possible for a desktop computer to perform this same function, such computers are not built with that in mind and they are usually unable to withstand constant use without breaking down.
A rack mount server is specifically designed to be operated around the clock, without ever being shut off at any time. Due to the specificity of this design, when you purchase a rack mount server from a company like a 1u server, a monitor is not included. This is simply because a rack mount server is not meant to be used in the same way that a regular computer is.
Moreover, a 1u server has an advantage over a regular computer tower in terms of the amount of space it occupies. Most people are familiar with the size of a regular computer tower, and a 1u server has a much smaller space requirement in terms of height than a regular computer tower. In addition, you can stack one rack mount server on top of another, making it extremely simple to expand the amount of available space and computing power.
The term ‘rack mount server’ is derived from the way in which this type of 1u server is installed, and is a reference to the bookshelf style mounting available for these servers. Because a 1u server is not much taller than your average DVD player, a great number of them can be stacked one atop the other – something that would be quite impossible with regular computer towers.
So if you manage a business which requires constant access to a common store of information, and are currently operating a regular desktop computer to which all the other computers on your network are connected, then you should definitely think about purchasing a rack mount server in order to better guarantee the safety of your information and increase the productivity of your office.

In general, you want a regular tower as the minis and such may limit your future expansion potential.
Of course, if you are the kind that NEVER opens the inside of a computer, and NEVER add anything, then that’s besides the point.
