network and you have to press Control-Alt-Delete to Log In with a user name and password. Of course I don’t have any of that or a network to log on to. Is there any way I can get this off my computer so that it just boots up and I don’t have to do the Control-Alt-Delete? I can’t even get past that logging in part so that I can boot up the operating system!

It’s set to lock, it doesn’t have anything to do with a network. The person before you probably had it set up that way so no one could use it. Call them and get the password. OR take it to a computer shop and have them remove it.
