Although miniscule in size, the Q110 comes with Full HD video playback support and operates very quietly – ideal for living room computing. Connect to your TV for a fully-functioning PC experience at a flick of your remote control, mount on the back of a monitor using the VESA bracket to create your own all-in-one computer, or simply use wherever space is a premium. The Q110 is a tiny miracle of computing, that will enrich your entertainment options wherever you place them in your home. Best of all, it’s from Lenovo, makers of the award-winning ThinkPad notebook.

we’ve used four around the office as “digital wallboards” for a few months and are working on setting up a 5th one. We’ve placed the unit on the back of ceiling-mounted plasma tvs. Have been very happy with the nettop pc’s performance.

Its a beautiful looking PC and very easy to use, simply plug and play. At first I was massively impressed, however there is one big drawback. The PC is NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH TO PLAY ANY HD VIDEO FILES. It struggles with any kind of large file, which is a major disappointment given the fact that this is primarily an entertainment PC with excellent quality 64 bit resolution screen and connected to my flat screen TV. Surely they should have built this piece of kit with enough power to play what is fast becoming the standard sized video files? Next time I’ll choose something a bit uglier with more processing power. Sigh….

As “saywatnow” mentioned, this is NOT and HD multi-media PC!
1.6GHz Intel 230 Atom Processor
2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM Memory
320GB 5400RPM Serial ATA Hard Drive
Nvidia Ion Graphics with Directx 10
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
With the above specs, you should already [KNOW] that you are NOT getting a true MM HD or HTPC unit!
Come on people – ATOM = “NETBOOK CPU”! The Atom’s are the DOG-A**-SLOW CPUs used in netbooks.
Plus its single core, single-threaded and only 1.6GHz.
PLUS, a 5400 RPM drive ? REALLY?!! In today’s world?! GET REAL! That is Dog-a## slow as well!
No computer EVER, in today’s world, should come with less than 7200 RPM hard drive.
To be honest, I am thinking of taking my wife’s model and replacing the 5400 rpm slow-drive with SOLID STATE!
That’s right, for about $160, I can get a 64GB SSD – solid-state drive! It is even faster than 7200 drives and
faster than SATA – well, the faster SSDs are on par with the 6GB/sec newest SATA spec.
so… i am interested to see if the SSD will relieve some of the bottleneck. certainly it will boot faster and operate faster overall. but the Atom still will be the bottleneck – at least that’s my guess.
