JTeam Partners with New Relic to Provide Application Performance Management for Solr Enterprise Search Server

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (PRWEB) May 11, 2010

JTeam, a leading provider of expert development and consulting services for Apache Solr search server, today announced that it has partnered with New Relic, Inc., to make New Relic RPM available to its clients during consulting engagements. JTeam consultants and clients can now use RPM collaboratively to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize live production web applications and Solr instances, and thus ensure successful application deployments and a superior Web user experience.

JTeam is a leading consultancy and development organization specializing in Solr implementations. Through its partnership with New Relic, JTeam will make RPM available to clients during application deployment to identify and remediate potential bottlenecks, then recommend it for ongoing web application monitoring and optimization.

New Relic, Inc. is the leading software-as-a-service provider of application performance management (APM) solutions. Its flagship product, New Relic RPM, is an on-demand performance management solution for web applications developed in Java, Ruby, or JRuby and provides deep, 24×7 visibility and code-level diagnostics for web applications deployed on traditional, dedicated infrastructures or in the cloud. New Relic recently announced RPM’s ability to provide deep visibility into production Solr instances. To learn more about New Relic RPM and Solr monitoring go to http://www.newrelic.com/solr.html.

Solr is the popular open source enterprise search platform from the Apache Lucene project. Its major features include powerful full-text search, hit highlighting, faceted search, dynamic clustering, database integration, and rich document handling. Solr is highly scalable, providing distributed search and index replication, and it powers the search and navigation features of many of the world’s largest internet sites.

Solr is written in Java and runs as a standalone full-text search server within a servlet container such as Tomcat. Solr uses the Lucene Java search library at its core for full-text indexing and search, and has REST-like HTTP/XML and JSON APIs that make it easy to use from virtually any programming language.

“In every client engagement, our number one priority is to help customers achieve their business objectives through the delivery of superior technology solutions,” said Steven Schuurman, CEO of JTeam. “Having a tool like New Relic RPM that provides unparalleled visibility into Java and Ruby–and now Solr–will make it easier for us to build and deploy applications that continue to meet clients’ very high standards for performance and availability. RPM is easy to use and because it’s delivered as a service, it has the added advantage of letting us easily share data and work even more closely with clients on supporting and maintaining the application over time.”

“We are pleased to be partnering with JTeam to make RPM available in customer engagements,” said Bill Lapcevic, New Relic vice-president of business development. “JTeam is one of the leading resources for Solr training and consulting in Europe. Together, RPM and JTeam’S development and consulting expertise create a compelling solution for building, deploying and maintaining business-critical web applications.”
