Question by Stacy: I have a desktop computer in a room without a phone jack how can we make it wireless?
We have 2 laptops and one desktop. The desktop is in a room without a jack in it and we don’t want to move it because it’s our mom’s computer and she uses it. We just got a package for AT&T to do Wi-fi. Is there a way to make her desktop wireless without having to buy something to do it? She is running a Vista.

I presume the “package for AT&T to do wireless” is an ADSL modem / router / switch / wireless device (adsl modem router).
To enable the desktop to connect to the adsl modem router, you have two choices:
1. Run a straight CAT5 cable from desktop to network port of the adsl modem router
2. Purchase and install a wireless network interface for the desktop. This can be a USB or a PCI style device. This option will work only if your desktop is in range of the wireless router.
