How do I fix my laptop display not turning back on after it has hosted a Remote Desktop session?

Question by Anonymous Thinker: How do I fix my laptop display not turning back on after it has hosted a Remote Desktop session?
I can’t seem to turn on the laptop’s display after it has hosted a Remote Desktop session. I am using Windows XP on the laptop and connecting to the laptop with Windows Vista.
For clarification, I have already ended the Remote Desktop session when I attempt to reactivate the laptop’s display.

On Windows XP you can’t see what the other person is doing. If someone is logged into an XP computer from somewhere else then that computer can’t be used. If you want to be able to use the computer while other people are logged into it you need to use Windows Server.
