Does the business of the desktop wallpaper affect the computer’s speed?

Question by megɑn☮: Does the business of the desktop wallpaper affect the computer’s speed?
My desktop is a college i made on paint of pictures of me and my friends. There’s about 30 pictures on it.. my mom says she thinks that’s why my screen is so slow… i told her if you open up paint and save just a plain white background or have it like mine and save it as your wallpaper, the speed will be the same. Is she right, or am i right? Also, if you have NO background at all (set it as no wallpaper under the desktop properties) will that make it go not as slow? Thanks (:
sorry i didn’t mean business like a work business, i mean busy-ness like how busy it is.

It might make a very slight difference on start up, but for day to day stuff it shouldn’t make enough difference to call it a performance hit.
