Question by DocBadwrench: Is there a keyboard shortcut to open “Windows Desktop Search”?
I am a macro-hound and was wondering (1) whether there is a pre-existing keyboard shortcut to open “Windows Desktop Search” and, if not:

(2) what the name (and possible location) of the executable which runs WDS, so that I can create a macro by hand (this would be the name of the EXE that I could put into the Run… dialog box).

Thanks in advance.

The “desktop search software” here means tools like “Google Desktop” or “Yahoo! Desktop Search”. I want to search my local pdf files with regular expression.

Download google desktop search again and run the installation file…it should give you the options to repair or uninstall it. If it doesn’t give you those options, install it again and I bet it’ll show up in programs and features afterward.

Answer by All About Winston
Actually, Thunderbird allows users to search an entire account (e.g. jane.doe@gmail.com). In addition, you can have all your accounts (e.g. jane.doe@yahoo.com, jane.doe@college.edu) under Local Folders.

Thunderbird 1.5.0 Release Notes:
“Saved Search Folders can now search across multiple accounts…”

There is an step by step tutorial on the Thunderbird Support Forum. The link is “Saved Search” (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Saved_Search)
