Elsies Girlhood

“Some years have now elapsed since my little heroine ELSIE DINSMORE made her debut into the great world. She was sent out with many an anxious thought regarding the reception that might await her there. But she was kindly welcomed, and such has been the favor shown her ever since that Publishers and Author have felt encouraged to prepare a new volume in which will be found the story of those years that have carried Elsie on from childhood to womanhood–the years in which her character was developing, and mind and body were growing and strengthening for the real work and battle of life. ”

nothing will prevent a determined thief from making off with your PC. If it is only the data that is of great importance, consider offsite backups. Dropbox or something like that.

Question by Vahagn A: What components would I need to build my own desktop computer?
Say I wanted to make my own from scratch. Can you tell me what parts I would need to make a functional computer? For one thing, I know I would need a mid tower computer case.

Answer by Anthony A
Computer Case
Power supply
Motherboard
CPU compatible with motherboard
Memory (RAM) compatible with motherboard
Hard drive
CD/DVD drive
Operating system (windows/linux, etc.)

If you want to save money, at the expense of performance, get a motherboard with integrated video, integrated audio, and integrated network (RJ-45) connectivity.

After that, you’ll need a CD/DVD drive to use to install software and the operating system of your choice.

These are the bare minimums and assume that you have a keyboard and mouse lying around along with an old monitor. If you don’t have these things, then you’ll need to add them to the list.

Go to a site like newegg.com or tigerdirect.com and go to their bare-bone/kit area. This will give you an idea of some of the various configurations out there and let you see the price ranges and the options.
