Question by email@example.com: Are there any inkjet printers that can print on letterpress (thick) paper?
I’m getting some letterpress done on Crane Lettra 110# paper which is about 300gsm thick or 21pt. Are there any inkjet or desktop printers such as Epson or HP that can feed this paper and print on it? Has anyone had any success? If so, details please. Thanks in advance!

The website for the printer will give technical details about the “print media” which should answer your questions. I use a hewlett packard printer to print on card and it works fine. If the paper is thicker than card then you might be better off with an Epson becuae of the way it feeds paper. Epsons have a “straight paper path” meaning that the paper feeds in at the top and comes out at the front – meaning it does not get curved quite so much as with a HP – which generally have the paper input underneath the paper output. This arrangement means that the paper has to go into the printer and then get folded back on itself to come out of the front again.
Never had problems printing card though any HP printer I have ever owned – and I always buy HP printers because in my experience they are the most reliable and have the best print quality.
