Keeping its rapid growth in mind, several capitalists were interested in its growth but the most important questions was cropping in the mind of people that, how will Internet play vital role in fast changing sectors like communications, media and news? And its answer is web application development.

Internet is an extremely popular across the globe because on the business point of view, web application development is more than capable to work with different channels of communication within and outside the business environment.

Who Need Web Application Development?

Before starting, we must understand that who and which sectors basically this application needs. There are many sectors which need application development and they are IT, B2B & B2C sites and the data management sectors as well. We know that there are many companies worldwide which want business with each other through secure and private networks and no other option would be better and safer than Internet.

Now, web application development has become an integral part of banking sector because it plays incredibly important role from the simple process of transferring funds into a bank account, to organizing a large scale web services network that updates pricing information globally, the adoption of a web applications infrastructure is vital for many businesses.

Web Application Model

Similar to other software, web application development is created upon 3 tiers that are ‘user services’, ‘business services’ and ‘data Services’. The function this model is to break the application into a network of consumers and suppliers of services.

The user Service tier constructs an image entrance for the consumer that help in interacting with the application. It ranges from basic HTML and DHTML to complex COM components and Java applets.

Now, function of user services is to capture business logic and procedures from the Business Services, which will vary from web scripting in ASP/PHP/JSP to server side programming like TCL, CORBA and PERL. It permits the users to perform complex actions through a web interface.

Phase of Web Application Development

Let’s look at each phase in detail which is as follow:

1. Envisioning the nature and direction of the project

Here, developers executed to the project to achieve the solution. In this phase, these developers have to keep the limitations of projects in mind that are placed on the project, scheduling, and versioning of the application. At the final stage of this phase, there must be crystal clear documentation work on what the application has to achieve.

2. Devising the plan

In this phase, the team member will decide about the application that what scripting language is most applicable, which features must be included, and how long the project will go? These are some of important things that must be kept mind during the planning phase. The principle difficulties at this juncture are the project plan and functional specification. It decides a time boundary of tasks, while the functional specification outlines in detail how the application will function and flow.

3. Development

As you have determined the project plan and functional specification, a baseline is automatically set for the web development work to begin. Now, Web developers start coding, testing and publishing data. This is very important phase that establishes the data variables, entities and coding procedures. And it will be used all through the rest of the project. After completion of project it will be handed to management for review.

4. Testing, support and stability

The final phase of the application project primarily emphasis on testing and the removal of bugs, discrepancies and network issues that may hamper or be a cause of application to fail. It is here that policies and procedures are established for a successful support system.
